6. Do You Know HIM??
The Morning Star?
The Prince of Peace?
The Suffering Servant?
The Most High God?
and Mary's Baby?
I myself would
be accountable in more ways imaginable if I did not ask this very important
question to all the visitor on this new site. Reading what I am about to tell
you WILL BE more important that whatever you may desire of us musically. Let me
begin with a simple statement about all of mankind.
Romans 3:23 ---- For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
No one, and I mean
no one, is perfect in any way, shape, or form. In fact, many of us do not
realize that inside you there is a constant war between your own soul
(conscience) and your "human desires", referred to as the "flesh". The
battlefield is the mind, and the winner will have primary control over your
decisions and opinions about life, love, etc., whether morally wrong or right.
Adam let his hunger and pride rule him into eating that forbidden fruit, which
brought sin unto his seed, namely you and me. You probably have anticipated that
I will talk about specific, condemnable sins and name them, but I am going to
assume that if you've read this far, my preaching hellfire and brimstone is very
unnecessary. Speaking of which....
Romans 6:23 -- For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
If you are letting
your human desires rule over your life, then this first part of this verse
perfectly describes your eternal fate. Whether the desire is sexual, for money,
for peer acceptance, for release of anger, or something I haven't mentioned, the
result is the same. The people that didn't make the ark found out. Sodom and
Gommorah found out. The Egyptians at the Red Sea sure found out, and all who
continue in the spirit of the flesh surely come to judgement. You shouldn't even
let your desire for music rule your life, regardless of the fact that it's "in
your blood".
Fortunately, the Lord Jehovah has provided a way to nullify the flesh nature and keep your soul from spiritual death. In fact, since the beginning of time God has worked divinely and through human creation to pave this way back to His light. Look here....
Hebrews 11:39-40 -- And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
These all, if
you're confused, refers to faith-filled humans from Adam to David and the
prophets, that followed the promises of God (and not without question, might I
add), knowing that the gifts promised would be fulfilled through and possibly
only for future generations. I suggest that all reading this should also read
Hebrews 11 to see a very condensed history of how God keeps his Word. In his
wisdom, God used faithful servants to provide this "better thing" . But why was
God merciful and what is this "better thing"? Come on now, you
know....
John 3:16-17 ----- FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD, THAT HE SENT HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH, BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE. FOR GOD SENT NOT HIS SON TO CONDEMN THE WORLD, BUT THAT THE WORLD THROUGH HIM MIGHT BE SAVED.
As you can see, I have not forgotten about the second part of Romans 6:23 and my friend, neither should you. If you have made it this far with me, then please understand that only through Jesus, the Son of God, can a man or woman retake control of their own soul and overpower the flesh nature.
If your soul is right with God, He will guide you through His Holy Spirit in your decisions and help you to prosper. Please don't let anything, up to and including your desire for musical fame and fortune, rob you of eternity with the Lord. For those who aren't truly with Him who saves are against Him.
If you aren't saved, please pray this prayer with me:
Lord Jesus, I know I have let my earthly desires rule me, and I have done things to fulfill them that I know in my heart are wrong. I humbly ask you to cleanse my soul and mind with your precious blood and come and take control of my life. Teach me Lord how to live righteous in Your will and testimony. Thank you Lord for your sacrifice, Thank you Heavenly Father for sending this "better thing", and thank you Holy Spirit for your indwelling and your new guidance.

In conclusion, may I leave a word to all musical people who visited this page and read it through. These words have rung true in my life so I am not ashamed to tell you...
Matt. 6:33 ---- But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
